Forge mods do not typically conform to bukkit events and as such, plugins like WorldGuard that you rely on to protect your spawn area, battle arenas, parkour, etc. Would be neat if Forge and Bukkit worked on a project like a multiplayer server host. It was only somewhat stable at servee. As far as I know, there is no way to do this as Bukkit does not go with other platforms. I know things such as the Technic Pack has pre-made servers with Forge Mod compatibility as well as the ability to run Bukkit Plugins. But even if it were still available today, it had some major issues from a server administration standpoint.

Recently, my friends and I have been playing on a server I have hosted.
I hosted an OreSpawn server for about 1 week while I was trying to learn how to manage it and quickly found out it was a nasty mess which I termed "interaction war" which made it difficult to administer. And as you had said, the way to do it derver taken down.

I was just hoping to set up mods with good plugins, and possibly make a good server. I had also heard about something called Cauldron, but from what I heard, that isn't a good way to go. However, the moment you throw in Forge mods, the "interaction war" begins.
I have no idea what works with what. I was hearing things along those lines, minercaft not being compatible with things like Forge.

Ahh, so it would have been possible, but very hard to keep up with plugins such as World Guard? Just today, I had decided to try and find a way to add Bukkit into the server, to give more of a Server-Feel to it, and maybe one day make my own server with a mod pack. This server has a proper amount of memory allocated into it, and is running smooth with a few Forge Mods, on Minecraft 1. premadd
